Reflection:

Here is an excerpt from “A Modest Lenten Rule” which appealed to me.
I will:
Not shriek at the children more than once a day.
Refrain from critical remarks.
Let the poor driver pull into the line of traffic in front of me.
Bless the food I eat.
Cook that dish which my spouse likes and I do not like; eat that dish which my spouse cooks and which I do not like.
Give Our Lord a little credit for the good things happening to me; blame Our Lord a little less for the bad things happening to me.
Blame my husband less. Blame my wife less. Blame everyone less.
Talk less. Say more.
Clean up the house. Quit cleaning up the house.
Ask Our Lord to help me to do all these things.
May our faith journey be strengthened throughout this Holy Week

Easter Play

Last Friday saw the beginning our Holy Week Story with the Yr 1/2 Class re-enacting the Palm Sunday Story in the Church. The kids performed wonderfully and sang and danced to the closing song.

Thanks to Miss Amy, Miss Terri and Miss Janice for their hard work preparing the kids and a HUGE thanks to the kids for their performance.

Photo: “Some people cut branches off the palm trees. They laid the branches on the road. Other people spread their coats on the road.”

This week we have the rest of the School plays and ending on Thursday with the Resurrection story performed by Staff.

Soft Drinks
In an endeavour to improve the health of the students at Sacred Heart School the school has decided to ban all soft drink at school. Last week Dr Alice visited the school and told all the students how much sugar is in each can. We were all amazed at the large amount of sugar. The school staff discussed this at our last meeting and we have decided to ban all soft drinks from the beginning of Term 2. We appreciate your support in this matter.

Movie Night
This was a great night, all the students were well behaved which is fantastic to see. The Students really enjoyed their hotdog supper as well as the killer pythons. On the night we raised $203 for Caritas which takes our total to $409.70. What an amazing effort in 2009.

EON
Garden
The garden is getting prepared over the holidays. We are eagerly awaiting the construction which hopefully will occur during the holidays.

Lunches
Just a reminder that Sacred Heart School still believes it is the responsibility of the parents/carers to provide a healthy meal each day. The school will provide lunch for students who have nothing to eat.

OP SHOP

This Thursday is an early finish for school

(At half past 10)

So no Op Shop this week and then the next 2 weeks are school holidays so Op Shop closed.

Open again after school holidays.

On Thursday the boys went hunting for goanna for Aboriginal studies.

We brought over ten kids. We had to use two cars for all the kids. Mr Jason, Reuben and Mr Greg and we went to a big lake on the road to the pearl farm. When we reached there we had lunch.

After we had lunch we went looking for some goanna. All the boys stayed together we went around the lake once and we only found a little goanna and a big umbrella lizard.

After that we went to Ngadalargin we jumped out of the car and we walked around that lake. We found two big bulls and we found lots of big goanna tracks.

It was so hot we nearly died and we came back and the school was finish and we all went home. That’s what we did when we went for goanna.
